Originated by Lou Lusardi in 2004, the Dragon Ride quickly became the UK's No.1 cyclosportive event and was voted UK's favourite for three consecutive years by readers of Cycling Weekly. In 2011 the ownership rights to the Dragon Ride were sold to Human Race Ltd, with Breakaway Events continuing to provide consultation services for the event under the direction of Lou.
