ITINERARY (Afan Argoed / Margam)

Friday: Arrive at your accommodation (B&B in local guesthouse 2 star minimum - luxury accommodation available for £15 extra), directions will be provided. Introductory chat with one of your guides.
Sat: After your hearty breakfast has digested, we make a mid-morning start on our main ride of the weekend. A 3-4 hour ride along the Afan valley venturing down toward the coast, or up into the Margam or Coed Morganwg forest areas (rides will vary week to week and the duration will take into account the severity of the terrain and weather). Late afternoon / evening: chillout, explore on your own or visit the pub.
Sunday: Early start (around 9.15) we ride one of the superb constructed trails at Afan Argoed plus some additional natural trails if time allows. We aim to get you back to your accommodation by the 1PM mark. You are then free to explore on your own before the journey home. Brecon rides will follow a similar timetable.

Ability / Grading
At our introductory chat the capabilities of group members will be discussed and suitable routes will be chosen. With the exception of the Beginners weekend you will ideally need to be fit enough to be able to complete a 4 hour ride and have the ability to cope with long climbs and fast descents and be able attempt to ride challenging technical single track sections. (However you are at liberty to walk around these if you want).
